SUSTAINABILITY AND INNOVATION FOR THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR

On the 7th of July, in the framework of the European project  wellianceHOSPITALITY, the CWP together with SATSA, association of hotel companies in South Africa, organised the virtual day of matchmaking Sustainability and innovation for the Hospitality sector.

This conference was attended by a number of South African hotel companies interested in learning about the technologies, services and innovations of water companies. The companies were able to present their needs, concerns and challenges in a networking space that was set up during the day. The participating companies were Girbau, Keiken, Unex, Fluidra, Eco-sistems watermakers, WE&B, GS INIMA Environment and Bluephage.

The event began with a presentation of the opportunities and challenges of the sector in South Africa. Then Bernat Force, CEFIM, gave an introduction to the European project wellianceHOSPITALITY. Afterwards, the representatives of each cluster participating in the project gave a brief introduction of the cluster and presented a success story in the hospitality sector: Trägerverein Umwelttechnologie-Cluster Bayern e.V, Eva Dehnert, from the Lumière Cluster, Marc Fontoynont, from the CENFIM cluster, Bernat Force and Mercè Martín from the Catalan Water Partnership. Finally, the participants were able to participate in the B2B Matchmaking between South African hotel companies and European PiMES.
