The CWP promotes six proposals for digital transformation projects in the ministry’s call (AEIs)

During the period May to June 2020, CWP has submitted a total of 6 projects to the funding line managed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism (MINCOTUR), which aims to finance Innovative Business Groups (AEI) to develop innovative projects framed within the field of digitisation.

In this year’s call, a total of 6 projects have been presented in which CWP participates and in 5 of them it is the leading entity. These projects have a total of 20 entities associated to CWP as participants, with diverse profiles and fields of application, and 3 Spanish clusters from sectors complementary to the water sector. Due to the enormous potential for the implementation of digital technologies in the water sector, the focus of the projects has been transversal and oriented to meet the needs of CWP member organisations in relation to their own challenges and proposals for improvement. Some of the innovative ideas presented to the 2020 AEI call have been for the implementation of digital technologies to improve industrial processes, to improve the management of the water cycle in the food sector, to increase control and safety in industry or to provide water distribution and collection infrastructures with intelligence.

The CWP has been promoting projects in the MINCOTUR’s AEIs funding line for several years now, some of the previous projects executed within this line have been URBANAGU4.0, EDARi 4.0, 0 VERTIDOS or Gemelo Digital, which won the award for best Intercluster collaboration project at the 2019 National Clusters Congress. As of today, the proposals submitted are in the review phase and the publication of the resolutions will take place during the last quarter of 2020.
