Raising awareness of legislation on water saving and reusing to promote the circular economy in the tourism sector.
The WAT’SAVEREUSE project overall objective is to explain the benefits of water legislation and national initiatives to promote the circular economy in water consumption, particularly in the tourism industry, targeting both water savings and water reuse, with a special focus on the Mediterranean environment.
In the framework of the project, which counts with the participation of Eurecat’s Sustainability Area, different awareness raising campaigns addressing four identified target groups will be carried out. The action to achieve the main objectives will be required primarily at national, regional and local level, creating common ownership of shared goals and objectives and ensuring a level playing field for business and public authorities.
The consortium of the project, coordinated by the Pyrenees Mediterranean Euroregion (EPM) that is a cooperative political body representing the regions of Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, and Occitanie, is also formed by the Catalan Water Agency (ACA), the Balearic Agency for Water and Environmental Quality (ABAQUA), the Agence de Developpement Economique d’Occitanie (AD’OCC), the Catalan Water Partnership (CWP), Aquavalley Pôle de Competitivité Eau, the Cluster of Balearic Chemical Industry (CliqIB), the Balearic Islands Tourist Strategy Agency (AETIB) and the Tourism Catalan Agency (ACT).
