SIMBAICAT

The SIMBAICAT project will try to promote the industrial symbiosis among the CWP partners, since the collaboration between cluster companies that include a large amount of productive activities and other industrial sectors can turn into environmental, economic and social benefits for to the entities involved.

Symbiosis wants to reproduce a natural ecosystem, where the outputs of one part of the system can represent inputs for other parts of it. SIMBAICAT wants to transfer this concept to the industrial water system, determining that the waste, energy flows or water of a company can be raw materials for other nearby companies, so that the surplus of a unit of system can be used by another.

It is a circular economy project funded by the Waste Agency of Catalonia, in which EURECAT and LAVOLA also participate.
